Can I teach from home?
Yes. POPPLE Philippines teachers work from a suitable home teaching environment with a reliable computer, internet connection, and headset.
How long is each class?
Classes are either 15 minutes or 30 minutes.
Who will I teach?
You will primarily teach Korean English learners through one-on-one online classes.
How much will I earn?
Starting rates are ₱50 for a 15-minute class and ₱100 for a 30-minute class. After 3 months, rates increase to ₱60 for a 15-minute class and ₱120 for a 30-minute class.
Does my rate increase?
Yes. After 3 months of teaching with POPPLE, your rate increases from ₱50 / ₱100 to ₱60 / ₱120 for 15- and 30-minute classes.
Can experienced teachers negotiate their rate?
Yes. Rates may be negotiable depending on teaching experience.
Do I need teaching experience?
We look for at least 1 year of ESL teaching experience, online or offline. If you have less but are a strong, energetic communicator, we would still love to hear from you.
What equipment do I need?
A laptop or desktop, a stable wired DSL or broadband connection of at least 5 Mbps, a reliable power supply, a noise-canceling or noise-reducing headset, and a quiet teaching environment.
How does the application process work?
Apply online, go through an initial screening, an interview and demo class, onboarding, and then you start teaching — see the 5 steps above for details.
When can I start teaching?
Most applicants who pass screening, the interview and onboarding can start within a few weeks of applying.
